EVO-All serial 001A06165453 trying to install on Kia Rondo 2007

+1 vote
Installing with Prostart CT-3371. Seems to program ok using Connection 27 and programming #3

but starter cranks but won't start. When I check the serial # it says Kia Optima 2013-Hybrid Push to Start.

Could this be my problem? Tried many setting in the Prostart (Expressit, Fortin, 1 way and 2 way communication).

Double checked Can and data wires. Yellow and Dk. Blue wires connected.

Do you have a Flash-Link Updater?

The problem is not really that it says Kia Optima, but that the EVO with any Autostart product needs to be set to D2D protocol when using datalink. The Autostart needs to stay untouched for datalink protocol, so, leave it as Expresskit 2-way communication. You can also just forget completely about datalink for this particular car.

Heres a test you can do:

  • Unplug the 5-pin white connector
  • Ground the (-)while-running wire
  • start the car normally with the key.

If the car does not start with the key, then the Lt.Blue and Lt.Blue/Black wires are simply reversed.

If the car did start, then this means the EVO is doing what it is supposed to.

The most common problem when trying to remote start on this particular car and the Hyundai Accent is the Can-Bus. I'd recommend trying without any Can-Bus connections (just disconnect the 5-pin white connector). The only thing available through Can-bus anyway is tach and foot brake.

Ok.I'll try it without Can-Bus.
