2011 F-150 Parking Light Relay with EVO-FORT4

I know there's a few posts about this, but it's still not clear. I'm trying to figure out how to wire the parking light connection.

System: EVO-FORT4; Vehicle: 2011 F-150 3.5L; Guide: #94891, pg 5 (https://fortin.ca/download/94891/evo-all_ig_rts_bi_for-fseries-2011-2016_key80bits_d_94891.pdf)

The diagram shows the EVO-ALL (brown/white) -> parking relay (connected to 12V with 10 A fuse) -> 7.5 A fuse -> passenger BCM (yellow/blue).

1.) Is the fused "Parking Light Relays" pre-existing in the OEM F150 wiring?

1a.) If so, where is it located (it's a short wire and will not reach the passenger side)?

1b.) If not, can you please suggest a part number for the relay and fuses?

1c.) Is there already an in-line 7.5 A fuse built into the t-harness for the brown/white parking light wire?

2.) Other posts mention connecting to the light switch (yellow/orange) instead of the passenger BCM. The wire is not long enough to reach the passenger side - is it designed to connect to the light switch on the driver's side?

2a.) If the light switch is a better method, is an additional relay & fuses still needed (per above)?

2b.) If additional wire length is required to connect at the passenger's side, what is the wire gauge size?

I have tried my best to answer all questions below.

1.) Is the fused "Parking Light Relays" pre-existing in the OEM F150 wiring?

- No, it is a relay you must purchase and add into the installation yourself.

1a.) If so, where is it located (it's a short wire and will not reach the passenger side)?

- See previous answer.

1b.) If not, can you please suggest a part number for the relay and fuses?

- Any standard automotive 5 pin relay will work. Fortin also sells one. https://fortin.ca/en/products/accessories/mr20/

1c.) Is there already an in-line 7.5 A fuse built into the t-harness for the brown/white parking light wire?

- No this is a fuse you must add when making the connections. You will need a 7.5A and a 10A as shown in the diagram you have linked above.

2.) Other posts mention connecting to the light switch (yellow/orange) instead of the passenger BCM. The wire is not long enough to reach the passenger side - is it designed to connect to the light switch on the driver's side?

- No, simply follow the relay diagram and connection location provided in the installation guide for your vehicle linked in your post above.

2b.) If additional wire length is required to connect at the passenger's side, what is the wire gauge size?

- Simply match the gauge of the wire you are connecting it to.

Thank you! That clarifies things.
Interesting that they chose to make the parking light wire shorter than all the other passenger BCM wires.
 

- Is there a min or max amperage recommended for the parking light relay (assuming OEM lights)? 20-30 Amp?

- Is there a recommended connection point from the relay -> 12V? I  would not want to go straight to the battery and would only want it to have power when the truck is running (want to eliminate any chances of parasitic battery drain). Maybe connect to some kind of accessory power wire?
No problem,

 

The MR20 relay is a 20 amp relay so that would suffice or any relay with equivalent amperage ratings.

 

You could locate a 12v feed at the bcm im sure to pwoer the relay if you wanted. Battery is normally the best go to though, but its up to you.
