OEM Remote stopped working after Evo-CHR4 install dodge RAM, Did it fry the Win unit?

0 votes
Installed the Evo-all with t-harness running newest firmware. install was flawless. started and stopped truck using OEM remote about 6 times to test key takeover, brake stop etc. got out of vehicle, locked doors and OEM remote buttons never worked again. remote cannot be used to lock/unlock or start. removed evo and same thing. Did the evo fry my Wireless Ignition module? if so, can i buy a RF kit to bypass the OEM system and have the evo lock/unlock witht he new remotes?

Can you start the car normally with the key?

Yes. The Truck starts with the key. (it's a TIP key). Just the lock/unlock buttons seem to have no effect.
So chances are you had to cut and modify the harness as indicated in the guide since you have a 2010 ram truck?

Sounds like the wrong wire has been interrupted. If you re join the wire does the remote start to work again?
That could be possible even thought it seemed pretty straight forward. are you infering that if i had interupted the incorrect cable, it fried something in the vehicle? because it worked many many times after the install. there was no issue. the only wire needed to be cut was the ignition, so i assume it was done properly considering ignition worked in my 6 tests.
I didn't notice the second half of your reply, sorry. I have not tried rejoining them. however i completly removed the t harness and evo, and the remote still does not work for unlock/lock.
If the car is back to stock and it still is not working I would start by checking all fuses first, and next verify connectors that you touched during the installation.
Will do and will report back. Can you tell me though - can i bypass the OEM unlock/lock/start function (if it is broken) using an RF kit with new remotes and have the evo kick the locks?
yes if you installed an RF kit and did not re program the evo lock/unlock and remote start would work from the rf kit
