Questions & Answers

I am having problems programming EVO-ALL's with the Flash-Link-2.

I can flash the modules with updates ok, but they won't remember the options I have chosen (i.e. stand alone start or brake switch monitor) and when I try to flash without also doing an update, it tells me the module has been disconnected and it crashes. I then have to disconnect and close the program. Re-open the program and re-flash any update as it will show the Hardware vr. 0. Then I try to set the options again only to start the same problem over and over. After about 10-15 attemps, it seems to then "remember" the programming when installed back in the vehicle. It has done this on two Chevrolets and now the last 3 Chrysler products. I have been using this flash-link 2 since 1/2014. I have uninstalled your program and downloaded it several times and still have the same results. Is there a way to re-flash the flash-link itself?? Do the flash-links go bad after so many installs?? Thanks.

The updates are never actually saving. Check this link out, you will see that it's written firmware 0.00 : https://fortin.ca/support/001A06519421/

There can be a few reason for this. check these out without the EVO-ALL connected to the flash-link updater.

  1. click Help -> About. There will be a a little pop-up window that comes up. In that pop up window there will be a version number, it should say version 3.52. If it doesn't, go download the latest Flash-Link Manager program. https://fortin.ca/en/support/flashlinkmanager.html
  2. similarly, you may need to update the firmware on the actual Flash-link updater (the red puck) To do this, go in Help -> FlashLink Updater Updates and follow the on screen instructions
  3. on the bottom right corner of the flash-link manager screen, it should say Connection Mode : Bypass in red. If it says connection mode : remote starter, hit the TOGGLE button right above it.
  4. If you have an older hardware vesion of the Flash-Link Updater (the red puck), you will not be able to do any option changes nor updater the firmware on the actual puck. We brought out the newer version of the Flash-Link Updater 2 about 3 years ago.

This is actually better solved viz phone support, please call us if you have further issues.
