Purpose of the Lock/Unlock wires in the For1 T Harness install diagram? Evo-One now pulses lock/unlock twice..

2010 Ford Edge. Car unlocked/locked from my Evo-One without issue before installing the lock/unlock wires that the guide called for. Now the car double locks and double unlocks. Is there a reason these were connected? If not, Is there a way to unprogram them?

The Lock-Unlock-Arm connections are to control the doorlocks from an aftermarket remote.

Are you using the oem remote or an aftermarket remote?

What is the 12 digit S/N of the module?

RFK942 aftermarket remote.

Bypass Firmware is 71.[49]

Starter Firmware is 1.[25]

I have been playing with this a lot and I have discovered the following:

With Bypass Module Option C5 set to OFF (Send OEM remote commands via datalink), unlock is completely fixed. Not only does it no longer turn the whole car on for a few seconds to unlock, but it only pulses unlock once from the aftermarket remote. It only appears to be pulsing the dedicated unlock wire. It is no longer depending on Canbus.

Lock is not fixed, it pulses the locks twice when the driver door is open, and 3 times when the doors are closed when locking from the aftermarket remote. It is still sending both the Canbus and the dedicated lock wire commands for lock.

Lock IS fixed when disconnecting the dedicated lock wire but that shouldn't be the solution. I believe this to be a firmware bug now.

All other OEM remote control options are off on both the bypass and starter. When turning on Remote Starter Option 38 to retain the use of the OEM remote. The OEM remote appears to function properly, but this makes no difference on the Unlock or Lock sent from the aftermarket.

This car DOES NOT have a factory alarm either, so Option A5 is set to "off".

Everything else is working correctly.

It's possible that doorlocks are actually controlled on CAN-BUS by the module. If that's the case,  the analog connections for lock-arm and unlock are not required. Quick and easy test would be to disconnect the 20-pin connector A, and just press lock - unlock from the 942 remote. See if door locks work. If you do not want to disconnect the door locks even though they may not be necessary, turning off option A1 will cancel out door lock control via can-bus.

On all 71.XX firmwares, no matter the model of Ford, having A5 - OFF , the vehicle should not be pulsing ignition/accessory on unlock. It is definitely coded to do that though with A5 - ON as that's how many oem ford alarms are disarmed from aftermarket devices. If there is a problem with 71.49 , downgrade to 71.44, reset and reprogramme the evo. This is assuming that your THAR-FOR1 kit is one that required you to connect 1 set of CAN-HIGH and CAN-LOW manually and that person you bought it from did not supply an obd2 plug for it.

C1 - OEM remote monitoring. The purpose of this is to monitor the oem remote lock-unlock commands to be able to conrol remote start, remote stop, evo alarm arm, evo-alarm disarm, from the OEM remote. It should not be doing anything else but monitoring for those 4 reasons. From your description, it sounds like the evo is actually doing more and replicating the actual lock-unlock outputs.

Downgrading the Starter firmware to 1.24 should fix the module from mirroring the actual lock-unlock of the oem remote.

After disabling A1, the locks single pulse on lock with the door open, and double pulse with the door closed. Unlock is single pulse as it should be. I re-enabled A1 and disconnected the direct lock wires. On Canbus, It's working the same. Double pulse lock, single pulse unlock. I'm going to let this go.

You were correct about A5. It was turned off mid install so I didn't notice that was what was causing the vehicle to wake on unlock.

The OEM remote is now functioning properly.

Thanks for your help.
