EVO-ALL with Compustar CM7000

+1 vote
I want to change my current setup from using a Fortin EVO-ALL as stand alone to Compustar CM7200 Remote starter with the EVO-ALL as the bypass and have some questions.

  1. Will I be following Fortin instructions "A - INSTALLATION WITH DATA-LINK" from the PDF guide here (http://fortin.ca/download/28831/evo-all_evochrt5_o20150216.pdf)?
  2. Will the Fortin control the door lock/unlock with arm/disarm and monitor door triggers through the CAN-BUS with no additional wiring required?
  3. CM7200 Pin 15 Black - Is the Status/Ground wile running, typically used to trigger bypass / transponder modules.  Will this wire be required and, if so, where does it connect on the Fortin EVO-ALL (http://techfeed.compustar.com/ft_controllers/manuals/CM7000_Full_Install_3.00_EN.pdf)
  4. Will the factory FOB's lock/unlock and arm/disarm the alarm or will I have to exclusively use the aftermarket remotes?

Will I need to follow the EVO-ALL PROGRAMMING (Page 14 http://fortin.ca/download/28831/evo-all_evochrt5_o20150216.pdf) or is that not required since it's only a bypass for the remote starter on the CM7000?

Easy.

The oem remotes still stay 100% functional. The aftermarket remotes would also allow lock-arm and unlock-disarm.

Thank you!  So far, I have everything mostly working but have a couple of questions / problems.

  1. Is there a guide that describes what the programmable functions on the EVO-ALL through the Flashlink are?
  2. I do not have any Datalink Protocols selected on the EVO-ALL; do I need to set this for the Compustar CM7000?
  3. Door triggers are not working, is that because of a missing setting in question #2?
  4. When I lock/arm using the Compustar remotes, the doors lock, then unlock immediately.  The alarm still goes into arm status but the doors remain unlocked.
  5. Because I'm using the EVO-ALL as the bypass and gateway into the CAN-BUS, should all the settings be selected through the flashlink or the Compustar.  (For example, do I turn Unlock before / Lock after on in the EVO-ALL or the Compustar)

1. page 8 of this guide: http://fortin.ca/download/17363/16141.pdf . Keep in mind not all options are available for every application. If you have any specific questions about any option, just post it here.

2. The default protocol is Fortin even if it's off. Since the evo-all can be programmed to work in all three protocols; Fortin, AP-OFA(ADS), and D2D , we recommend to use what the remote starter default setting is. In your case, enable option F2 - AP-OFA datalink and program the remote starter for ADS protocol.

3. Once datalink is setup, the statuses should work fine through datalink

4. same as 2 and 3 but most likely caused by #5 . You can actually test to see if the issue is the evo, or the datalink communication by simply grounding the Purple wire on the evo 20-pin. Ground it for 1 second and see if the doors lock and stay locked.

5. That's a great question! Technically, you can have it enabled in either the compustar or the evo but not both! We like to have our units control as much as possible on a vehicle and we recommend that this option be enabled in the evo since door lock control is through data. This also eliminates any timing issues that may happen between how our firmware works and how the remote starter disarm and gwr signals respond.

I just looked at your service number and your options are perfect at the moment.

I just wanted to follow up and let the support team here know that everything is working great and I really appreciate the site!
