Program RFK-411 Remote with Evo-One-KHY2 - 2016 Kia Optima

Hello,

I'm experiencing difficulties programming an RFK-411 remote with my EVO-One-KHY2 system installed in a 2016 Kia Optima (US model).

Here's what I've done so far:

  • Installation: I followed GUIDE #91351 to install the T-harness and EVO-One unit.
  • Firmware: The EVO-One has the latest firmware for my vehicle (updated via FlashLink).
  • Programming: Since my car is the US version without the (~)EMS COM cable, I used PROGRAM: 2 to program the EVO-One.
  • Remote Pairing: I followed GUIDE #68771 to connect the RFK-411 remote, but have been unsuccessful using both the ignition switch and valet switch methods.

The Problem:

The instructions state that the blue light on the RF antenna should flash with each brake press, but the blue light does not respond. This prevents me from completing Step 4 of the programming process.

Troubleshooting:

  • I've confirmed the red light next to the yellow wire on the EVO-One is off, indicating it's not in locked/armed mode.

It seems the EVO-One is not registering the brake presses, which is preventing the RFK-411 remote from being programmed.

Hello,

Try starting the car when turning the ignition on, sometimes hyundai/kia will only register the brake when the engine is running.

Best regards.

Same issue even when I started the car to program. Still no response from brake press
In that case you could try manually pulsing the brake wire of the evo-one yourself to repalicate the brake signal. It is the black wire on the 20 pin connector of the module. Pulsing it to 12v would replicate a brake input.
