Hyundai sonata 2017 - what diode to use in installation of evo one for PTS wires and what side does the cathode/anode go?

generic 1 amp diode, strip facing the module (Fortin Evo One).

does the strip mean the cathode side? Also will 1n4001 diode work?

yes the cathode side. That diode will work.
