Evo-All/Mitsubishi Lancer D2D tach signal

Question

Hello, installed a Prostart CT 3471 TW with Evo-all into a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer, manual trans, key start. The fortin evo-all guide for lancer asks for firmware version 2.02 or higher. The bypass module would not program with this version, but would program with reccomended newest version. My problem is that the the tach, foot brake, e-brake are all supposed to input to Evo-all through CAN HI and CAN LO and output to remote starter through D2D. I can get foot brake function to work with key on but no tach signal or e brake signal. The WIRE COLOR vehicle wiring color guide says to use coil on number 1 BLK/RED wire for tach signal. I connected to this wire and cannot tach learn remote start. I ended up using an injector neg. wire (any wire not red/white) and immediately was able to tach learn. Had to also hard wire e brake wire to get signal to remote starter.  When using this combination of starter/bypass, what protocol should I select in evo-all and remote starter, my options are fortin, xpresskit, D2D, one way or 2 way communication?  Should I have to hard wire Evo-all to remote starter inputs or should it all be going through the D2D. You should put your EVOALL option to D2D and your Prostart option to D2D (Expresskit) 2way.

All these features works perfectly with EVOALL if you still have problem just hardwire from EVOALL to your Prostart

I haven't yet begun the install, but had the same question - wondering if the Prostart (CT-3471TW) would work with the 2-way d2d from a Fortin EVO ALL (and thus don't need to worry about tach, foot brake, etc.).

Are you saying to keep the default programming with the Prostart set to "XpressKit" for both the Bypass and Bypass Type (Programming Mode 4, functions 4 & 5)?

I see with Mode 4, function 4... option 3 is "Fortin" (default is opt 2: "XpressKit")  and function 5, option 2 (default) says: "Two Way communication (For Xpresskit bypass ONLY)"

Hence my confusion... as that makes it sound like 2-way d2d will only work with XpressKit bypass modules, and not Fortin... which would be silly and unfortunate.

The Prostart unit only allows 2-way datalink with their own Xpresskit/D2D protocol. So, leave the protstart to expresskit protocol and change the EVO option to D2D protocol (option F3). This will allow 2-way datalink.

Thanks for your reply!  I understand... great point!...

Of course I now have a couple of follow-up quesitons:

A) Is the only way to change to option F3 on the EVO via the Flash Link Manager? (or can you do it via brake pulse inputs / parking light flash codes?)  ... of course I don't have the flash link manager.

B) On the Prostart, would I still connect via the "EVO/ADS bypass" 4-pin (instead of somehow using the Xpresskit bypass 5-pin connector?

Options in the EVO can only be accessed via the flash-link updater.

You can use either of them. The Expresskit port is also 4-pin but only larger.

 

If you do not have the flash-link, jsut do wire-to-wire instead of datalink.
